Hi all,
I have a JD 955 and today it has started to run slow. Hare range gives a top speed that turtle perviously had and turtle has turned to snail. Engine is working fine and the FEL still works great and with the same speed. Hydro fluid is at the correct level. Any ideas?

I don't have any experience with your model tractor, but perhaps something has came loose in the linkage. Does it do the same in reverse? Does it make any unusual noise? Frank. ....

Sounds like you may be needing a transmission/hydraulic oil & filter change. The suction screen may be clogged with some type of crud or debry. Be sure to check and clean it as well. Check your owner's manual about this. It should cover this task and specify the filters (usually suction, hydrostatic, and suction screen) that must be changed or cleaned. DO NOT continue to run the machine until you have done this or determined what the problem is as you could be burning up the hydrostatic pump and or hydraulic pump. Hopefully this is the problem and it is not the pump itself. Good luck and let us know how things turn out. ....

Hi all,
I changed the oil, filter and cleaned the screen. Still ran slow. I then fiddled with the linkages and she is now back to normal. Don't ask me what I did, I pulled them apart, cleaned and then re-assembled them exactly as they came off.
Thanks for all the help,
Glendon ....
